AMSG is seeking a full time Knowledge Management Specialist – Policy and Governance with U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) or other Army experience.

AMSG supports a variety of Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of the Treasury, and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) programs with performance management services. General Description:

The Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist in Policy and Governance plays a critical role in our organization, focusing on the development and implementation of effective policies, plans, and procedures that align with the broader goals and guidelines of the Army. This position requires a deep understanding of military operations, organizational dynamics, and strategic planning, making it ideal for candidates with a background in military science.

Specific Duties:

  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures that are in line with higher-level Army guidance and existing policy frameworks. Ensure these policies effectively support the organization’s goals and are communicated effectively across all levels.

 

  • Strategic Planning: Assist in formulating strategic plans that align with long-term objectives and Army standards. Contribute to the development of operational strategies that enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

 

  • Program and Operations Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of agency plans, programs, operations, and functions. Use these evaluations to recommend improvements and ensure alignment with overarching policy and governance structures.

 

  • KM: Leverage expertise in KM to facilitate the flow of information and insights across the organization. Implement systems and practices that enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration.

 

  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to staff regarding new policies and procedures. Ensure a high level of understanding and compliance across the organization.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Army doctrine, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders to accomplish mission goals.
  • Ability to analyze, innovate, and maintain conventional office work systems/business processes using Microsoft Office 365 and other authorized software solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior government leaders in an on-site support role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects to create timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, multi-task, and prioritize requirements.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures within a military or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to align operational plans with higher-level guidance.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills, with the ability to assess complex plans, programs, and operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • In-depth understanding of Army operations, organizational structures, and mission objectives.
  • Proficiency in KM principles and practices.

 

Additionally, a Candidate will:

  • Exhibits proficiency in business management and a proven record of applying innovative solutions, design thinking, disruptive innovation, process management/design, benchmarking, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, rate of innovation, along with other related methodologies and practices to programs of comparable scale and complexity.
  • Demonstrates expertise, understanding, and experience in Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development or Organizational Management.
  • Has experience leveraging performance management/measurement, strategic planning, research, and analysis, change management, and behavioral science theories, principles, and practices.
