Description

AMSG is seeking a Travel Office Customer Service Representative to support our Customers at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA), Enterprise Shared Services (ESS), and Student Travel Office (STO).

  • Location: Remote, REQUIRED: Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Frederick, MD.
  • Education: A BA/BS Degree is preferred but not required, based on years of relevant travel experience, including knowledge and experience in audit and budget.
  • Years of Experience: 3 years of professional/related experience
  • Clearance Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust
  • Requirement: Knowledge of Concur, Defense Travel System (DTS) and/or Sales Force

General Description: The Travel Support Customer Service Representative will guide student travelers and the schools regarding Travel Policy and Academy instructions and review travel documents to ensure policy compliance and budgeting guidance is met.

Specific Duties:

  • Monitor Travel Mailbox (Outlook), respond to student inquiries, and forward student inquiries to the appropriate school or recipient.
  • Experience in MS Teams and all MS Office Suites preferred.
  • Answer student inquiries via phone, MS Teams, email, etc.
  • Route questions that can’t be answered or approvals needed to the appropriate school or contact and follow up to ensure a response.
  • Serve as Travel Liaison to CSA on a variety of travel issues between students and schools.
  • Document communications on a transactional basis.
  • Interact with Key Stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Ensure communication between organizations to streamline and ensure consistency of travel approvals and reviews across the Academy.
  • Provide ad hoc student travel reports.
  • Communicate with traveler and traveler coordinators to support and resolve any issues and questions before and after travel.
  • Attend meetings to discuss travel issues and provide resolutions to ensure future problems are limited.
  • Provide a thorough and specific review of all local and TDY travel authorizations and vouchers.
  • Certify all local and TDY travel authorizations and vouchers.
  • Preferred knowledge of Defense Travel System and Joint Federal Travel Regulations.
